Climate Action in Practice: Teaching for Climate Futures in Learning Gardens
I presented Climate Action in Practice: Teaching for Climate Futures in Learning Gardens at the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden in New York City. This talk highlighted the ways Learning Gardens can serve as living classrooms for climate education, offering hands-on strategies to integrate horticulture, systems thinking, and climate action into school and community settings. Drawing from my work at the Greenhouse & Education Center, I shared approaches for engaging students in climate-wise gardening practices that connect ecological knowledge with everyday action.
